Applied Food Sciences, Inc. (AFS), a science driven ingredient, and food technology company is set to unveil its line of botanical energy solutions at the NEXT Innovation Summit presented by Nutracon. The launch ties into the trending demand for consumers searching for plant-based, NON GMO, forms of natural energy.

Formulating with plant based, raw botanical extracts instead of synthetic caffeine sources in food and beverages will offer formulators and product developers a clean label energy solution, while providing additional nutritional benefits.

Applied Food Sciences, Inc. (AFS), a science-driven ingredient and food technology company, is set to unveil its line of botanical energy solutions at the NEXT Innovation Summit presented by Nutracon. The launch ties into the trending demand for consumers searching for plant-based, NON GMO, forms of natural energy. “AFS has really looked to be ahead of the curve in industry trends, and our new line of GreenEnergy offerings will provide multiple benefits to the end consumer while providing the one key attribute that continues to create demand and drive growth in the beverage category: ENERGY,” remarks Jackson Zapp, VP of Marketing for AFS. According to The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website, the agency has begun to investigate the safety of caffeine in food products forcing the ever growing category to adapt. Mr. Zapp agrees in saying, “Formulating with plant-based, raw botanical extracts instead of synthetic caffeine sources in food and beverages will offer formulators and product developers a clean label energy solution, while providing additional nutritional benefits.”

AFS plans to launch three functional ingredients; JAVA.g, a green coffee botanical, GYUSA.g, a botanical from Guayusa tea leaves, and PURCAF, an organic 90% pure caffeine extract. The NEXT Innovation Summit, which promotes itself as the premier education and networking product development conference in the health and nutrition industry, takes place March 5th & 6th prior to the Natural Products Expo West at the Anaheim Hilton.

AFS has been involved in the food and nutrition business for over 13 years developing and marketing proprietary ingredients and technologies for overall health and wellness. AFS’ proprietary products have been featured on television and in publications such as CNN, NBC, USA Today, O Magazine, Parade, Muscle and Fitness, FLEX, Prevention and Newsweek.
